Biography

Dr. Massadeh is a Research Scientist at King Abdullah International Medical Research Center (KAIMRC), and affiliated to the Ministry of National Guard Health affairs (MNGHA) and King Saud Bin AbdulAziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS).She is also a faculty member in the Centre of Excellence in Biomedicine (KACST\BWH).

Dr. Salam Massadeh has over 15 years’ experience in medical research. She is an expert in therapy development, drug delivery systems, bio-nanotechnology, and the use of nanotechnology for gene therapy. In her current position, Dr. Massadeh is leading major research projects in therapy development using bio-compatible nanoparticles, she is also involved in other research projects related to novel therapeutics, gene therapy, gene discovery and pharmacogenomics. She is an active member of the Mega-National Project “Saudi Human Genome Program-MNGHA Satellite” since 2016. Dr. Massadeh has also contributed to the global COVID19 pandemic by being part of a project related to Host Genomics.

Dr. Massadeh has published her research outcomes in prestigious peer reviewed journals, such as Nature and JCI.

Dr. Massadeh has a PhD degree in the field of Nanotechnology in bio-imaging; from the University of East Anglia, United Kingdom.  And a Master’s degree, in the field of Drug Delivery Systems, college of pharmacy, University of Reims Champagne Ardennes, France. In addition, she has a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from Jordan University of Science and Technology.

Dr. Massadeh is member of the Royal Pharmacists Society (RPS), United Kingdom. And a member of the International Federation of Pharmacists (FIP), and several other bodies. She is also a member of editorial boards of scientific journals.
