Biography

Dr. Dalal Alezi is an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at King Abdulaziz University (KAU) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. She earned her Ph.D. from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) under Professor Eddaoudi's supervision. Her research focuses on the design and synthesis of novel materials and the exploration of their properties in a wide range of applications, including gas separation and storage, catalysis, and drug delivery.

She received the Physical Science and Engineering (PSE) Division Student Award and was selected as one of the 45 finalists for the Reaxys PhD Prize, which recognizes young chemists for their innovative work. In 2017, she was chosen to join the 67th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting. She was also featured in Nature as an agent of change in Saudi Arabia.

Last year, she was awarded the Ibn-Khaldun Fellowship and worked in the Chemistry Department at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
