Hana Bunzen

Biography

Hana Bunzen was born in the Czech Republic, where she earned her master degree in chemistry at the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague. Afterwards, she obtained her PhD in Organic Chemistry at the University of Jyväskylä in Finland. After completing her PhD, she moved to Germany, where she is currently an Associate Professor at the Chair of Solid State and Materials Chemistry at the University of Augsburg. She leads a research group focused on developing functional nanoscale materials for biomedical and environmental applications.

  • Nanoparticles for applications in medicine (drug delivery, diagnostics, sensing, etc.)
  • Porous materials for gas storage
  • Functional coordination materials (stimuli-responsive, magnetic, redox-active, conductive, etc.)
  • Electron microscopy
